Despite legislative measures and assistive technologies, there continues to be a big gap in access to rights and opportunities for people with disabilities.
Young people with disabilities do not get a platform to voice their opinions or advocate for their rights.

In June 2023, a pioneering initiative took flight – the AccessAbility Innovation Challenge. Spearheaded by the UNFPA, in partnership with the GDI Hub and the Global Network.
UNFPA, GDI Hub, and GNYPWD are hosting an Innovation Challenge to address the sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) of young individuals with disabilities.
The AccessAbility Innovation Challenge, backed by UNFPA and GDI Hub, celebrated tech-driven solutions for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for disabled youth.
Since its inception in 2020, GNYPWD has worked towards including young people with disabilities in all youth-relevant agendas.

GNYPWD relies on donations and sponsorships to organize community initiatives to help develop capacity and provide opportunities to our membership of young people with disabilities. GNYPWD works with Angels for Angels as a fiscal sponsor in the US, and all donations are tax-exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
