In the Diversity Dialogue’s first episode, Puneet Singh from GNYPWD had an intriguing conversation with Nigina Muntean, Chief of the Innovation Unit at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Equalizer Fund Co-founder. They talked about how UNFPA envisions a future that is accessible, inclusive and equitable for persons with disabilities. Also, about how the AccessAbility Innovation Challenge is shaping up with participation and engagement from across the globe. She also talked about the ambitious projects of the Challenge and how UNFPA, GDI Hub and the GNYPWD will support them throughout the project.

We are joined by Ebele O. Okoli. She works as the Program Manager, Accessibility – Mental Health and Intersectionality. We discussed her vision of technology is role in furthering accessibility for persons with disabilities. Also, Where does Microsoft stand in prioritizing accessibility, and what unique initiatives are being undertaken in this regard.

She told us how she is using informatics to bridge the gap between population health concerns and accessibility for persons with disabilities and the future of digital accessibility, especially in the realm of health, and what advice would you give to emerging professionals in this field.
